The Tomah Area School District has the following vacancy beginning in the 2024-2025 school year:


ESL Teacher and EL Coordinator (K-12)
Tomah Area School District is seeking an innovative educator who can work collaboratively with colleagues, develop positive relationships with students and parents, and build partnerships with the community.  This position requires a dynamic and progressive teacher who has a strong background in:  1) RtI and PBIS, 2) Professional Learning Communities, and 3) Differentiated Instruction.  The preferred candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and demonstrate a positive attitude.  This position requires the candidate to coordinate EL services, assessments and programming for the District’s EL population.  The candidate will organize courses for non-English speakers with diverse activities and methods that cover all aspects of English language (speaking, writing, and comprehending).  Additionally. the candidate will create individualized educational plans based on each student’s needs and evaluate their progress through assessments.  Travel between schools is required.
 
This is a full-time position starting with the 2024-25 school year.  Co-curricular coaching and advisor positions are available. 
 
Qualifications:  Candidates should possess or be eligible to possess WI DPI Certification #1395 (English as a Second Language).  Candidates with a K-12 ESL/Bilingual license (WI DPI Certification #1023) preferred.  Individuals with ESL certification only, but who are fluent in Spanish, will be considered.  Applicants who hold a valid DPI Teaching certification in any area, and are interested in pursuing an emergency license for this position, are encouraged to apply.
