Key Responsibilities:
Client Therapy and Counseling:
- Provide individual, couples, and family therapy sessions in a private practice outpatient setting.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on client assessments.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address various mental health issues.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct intake assessments, including biopsychosocial evaluations, to establish comprehensive care plans.
Collaboration and Consultation:
- Work closely with other therapists, medical professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case consultations to discuss treatment plans and progress.
- Engage in regular supervision and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Communication and Documentation:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, families, and other stakeholders regarding treatment progress and plans.
- Prepare detailed and timely documentation of sessions, treatment plans, and any interactions.
- Ensure all documentation meets ethical and legal standards, including informed consent and confidentiality agreements.
Professional Development and Ethical Practice:
- Stay current with advancements in the field of mental health through ongoing education and training.
- Adhere to professional and ethical guidelines established by licensing boards and professional associations.
- Pursue licensure and certification requirements to ensure compliance with state regulations.
Administrative and Operational Duties:
- Schedule and manage appointments.
- Submit and manage billing and insurance claims accurately and promptly.
- Monitor and respond to claim denials, seeking additional training or assistance if necessary.
Outreach and Community Engagement:
- If applicable, participate in community outreach initiatives to promote mental health awareness and services.
- If applicable, represent the practice at community events, school meetings, and professional conferences.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
Flexibility and Adaptability:
- Adapt to the changing needs of clients, demonstrating flexibility in scheduling and service delivery.
- Address barriers to accessing mental health services, particularly for underserved populations.
Time Management and Organizational Skills:
- Efficiently manage time to balance responsibilities between private practice clients and home life.
- Prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of documentation, billing, and client follow-ups.
Client and Family Engagement:
- Actively involve clients and their families in the therapeutic process, encouraging participation and feedback.
- Provide education and resources to clients and families to support their mental health journey.
Qualifications:
- Must hold one of the following credentials: LMFT, MFT in Training, LPC, LPC-IT, LCSW, APSW.
- Experience in behavioral health settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of integrated care models and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and provide a range of therapeutic services.
- Proficient in electronic health records and documentation practices preferred.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical guidelines.
- Strong ability to be independently motivated and take on leadership roles.
