QUALIFICATIONS: We are currently seeking a reliable, responsible individual to help maintain and assist Lagrange Elementary School. We take great pride in the health and safety of our schools and see it as a direct reflection of the Tomah Area School District. We are looking for someone with the same vision. The ideal candidate would be someone who is careful and thorough in their work. We also want someone who is consistently available and highly present, as this is an important step in building security. - Strong background in customer service.
- Ability to communicate and maintain good working relations with all District employees, contractors, and public entities.
- Able to work effectively as a team in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
- Detail oriented and conscientious.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning and food service equipment and maintenance.
- Safety conscious.
- Must pass district custodial and food service tests, written and physical.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Basic math knowledge and ability to follow recipes.
COMPENSATION: Wage will be in compliance with the employee handbook for the time worked. Work schedule will be from Monday-Friday, 9:45am – 12:45pm (3 hrs/day). This is a school year position.
DUTIES: These include but are not limited to:
- Frequent cleaning and disinfecting all areas, including restrooms, cafeteria, entrances, kitchen, taking out trash etc…
- Driving a school vehicle daily during the school day.
- Sweeping and mopping floors, as well as vacuuming carpets.
- Respond to bio cleanup when not serving food.
- Restock necessary items (ie…food and custodial supplies.)
- Serving food daily.
- Performing basic maintenance work (ie..tightening table legs, replacing light bulbs.)
- Monitoring and reporting major building maintenance needs.
- Ensuring building safety and security by locking entrances and testing alarm systems.
- Perform seasonal tasks (ie…clearing snow, salting, entrance maintenance.)
- Set up serving lines and serve food according to Federal regulations.
- Clean kitchen, cafeteria, tables, dishes, other kitchen equipment.
- Assist district kitchen staff, and any other duties assigned by supervisor.
