The Tomah Area School District has the following extracurricular vacancy beginning in the 2025-26 school year: THS Assistant Musical Director
DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
The THS Assistant Musical Director is responsible for teaching and rehearsing the vocal parts for the selected musical while working closely with the musical director and pit director in the following areas: show selection, casting, planning, rehearsing, and performing. This person shall report directly to the Musical Director and/or principal or designee.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Plan and attend musical auditions held in February
• Plan and attend rehearsals February through April
• Facilitate choreography rehearsals
• Clear and consistent communication with parents, students, musical director, and pit director
• Maintain financial records (as needed)
• Maintain record of student attendance to all activities and meetings
• Enforce student activity handbook expectations
• Assist musical director and pit director as needed
• Attend all performances and rehearsals
• Work with production team director to create a unified program in regard to attitude, program selection and performance opportunities
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• Experiences and backgrounds with vocal music and theatrical performances
• Ability to play piano is highly preferred
